The George Wahl Memorial Muskie Fishing Tournament is an exciting late season muskie fishing tournament on September 24th, 2011 in the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area. With 13 lakes to fish, from Waconia to Forest Lake there is plenty of space for the hundreds of anglers to compete for the grand prize, cash awards and many other great items like rods and reels.
The tournament is to remember the time we had with a man that many of us know, respected, fished with, learned from and probably used his lure The Eagle Tail, George Wahl.
100% of the proceeds from this muskie tournament is dedicated to stocking and rearing muskies for our metro lakes with special focus on White Bear Lake. So far we have helped the Minnesota DNR tag 100s of muskies to be used in a study and help us understand our muskies in the metro area. Stocking and research.
It's one way we can give back to the resource that we spending so much time, money and enjoyment on to help keep the fishery successful for years to come.

The Frank Schneider Jr. Memorial Muskie Fishing Tournament is held in the Bemidji, Cass, Longville and Walker area of Minnesota. For 44 years the tournament is brought up to 700 tournament contestants together for a 3 day event.
The tournament proceeds are used to run other events related to the youth, fisheries and research, the backbone and reason Muskies Inc. was started.
The tournament also presents a check each year to the Minnesota DNR for $3000. The funds are ear marked/used in to benefit the lakes where the muskie fishing tournament is held, specifically for the muskies.
That's $30,000 given directly to the Minnesota DNR at the closing ceremonies in the last ten years that benefits everyone that enjoys the challange the muskie fishing presents.
